Police have earned people’s trust: CMP chief

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanviron Tuesday said police have earned the trust of the people.

The CMP Commissioner made the remarks while addressing a programme on the Dampara Police Lines ground in the port city on Tuesday.

At the programme, Commissioner Tanvir received the kyes of four new patrol cars for the CMP.

Tanvir said these vehicles will strengthening police patrolling.“We have earned the trust of the people and have some responsibilities as the fast responders. From now on, we will be able to provide services easily and quickly,” he said adding technology will added to these cars to transmit information. 

Additional Commissioner of Police (Finance and Administration) Amena Begum, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Mostaq Ahmed Khan, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shyamal Kumar Nath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Amir Zafar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Vijay Basak, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media) Abdur Rauf, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) AAM Humayun Kabir, Member Secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan Community Policing Ahid Siraj Chowdhury Swapan were present on the occasion.  

These petrol cars are installed with necessary equipment including inbuilt CCTV camera, bulletproof jacket, heller, crime scene box, walkie talkie.

Patrol cars will patrol Kotwali, Panchlaish, Double Mooring and Khulshi police stations from 10 am to 12 noon every day.
