Police hand over lost 105 mobile sets, Tk 7 lakh to owners after recovery

The Cybercrime Investigation Cell in Jhenaidah Police had handed over 105 stolen mobile phone sets and cash Taka about seven lakh to the owners. 

These were  recovered from different parts of the country. The items were handed over in a simple ceremony in the conference room of the Superintendent of Police (SP) on Wednesday morning. 

SP Azim Ul Ahsan and Harinakundu municipality mayor Faruque Hossain handed over the phone sets and cash before the police officials and media activists on Wednesday morning. 

SP Azim Ul Ahsan in a press briefing said that the mobile phone sets were either missing or stolen from different areas of the district and general diary were lodged with respective police stations to get back the same. 

The cybercrime investigation cell of the detective branch (DB) had conducted drives at different parts of the country and recovered a total of 105 sets of mobile phones and cash Taka 879,140 from 21 persons. 

The money was taken  by cheat through the mobile financial services of Bkash, Nagad and so. SP urged upon the people through the media activists to be aware of cybercrimes as it was increasing among the teenagers alarmingly.   Additional SP (Admin and finance) Imran Jakaria, Additional SP (Crime and Opps) Mahidur Rahman, district special branch (DSB) OC Atiqur Rahman, detective branch (DB) OC Jewel Islam among others present during the press briefing.
