Law enforcement agencies along with mobile courts are imposing strict lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Multiple police check posts have been established in Shimrail Intersection of Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Siddhirganj area to implement the lockdown regulations. Passengers of this route as a result are facing hassles.
Passengers in the area said that they are facing troubles while going from Shmrail to Signboard. As public transports are not allowed to enter the capital, many passengers had to walk towards their destinations.
Pressure of passengers for Chattogram and other districts were less than average. Meanwhile, police are ordering to turn the busses, private cars coming from Chattogram side at Shimrail Intersection.
Mamun Mia, A passenger upon asking said, ‘I wanted to go to Gabtoli. I heard busses stop here to pick local passengers. Though I’m waiting for more than 2 hours, I still have not found a transport.
Sabina Yesmin, an attendee for a patient said that she wanted to take her father to Shyamoli Heart Foundation for check-up. But they are waiting since morning for a bus of that route.
Couple of Cumilla bounded passengers said that they had been waiting for two hours for a bus of Dhaka-Cumilla route. But not a single transportation could be found in the area.
Narayanganj District Police TI (Admin) Kamrul Islam Beg said that teams of police personnel are fully active and operational in the area to implement lockdown. They are ordering passenger cars and busses to turn back.
