Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police of Barishal range Md. Shafiqul Islam visited different Puja Mandops in Jhalokati on Monday night.
He visited Modon Mohor Akhra Bari Puja Mandap of Fire service area, Public Horisova, Horisvastho Horisova Puja Mandaps in the district town at night.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhalakati Md. Johar Ali, Superintendent of Police Fatiha Yasmin, President Prof Dr Ashim Kumar Saha, Additional Superintendent of Police MM Mahmood Hassan, Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Masum Billah, General Secretary of District Puja Udjapan Parishad Tarun Karmakar along with many Hindu religious leaders were present there.
During the visit, the DIG spoke to the leaders of the Puja Udjapan Parishad and the visitors and asked about the overall situation of Durga Puja. In a brief speech after the visit, DIG Shafiqul Islam said that the Shardiya Durga Puja is being celebrated peacefully.
