Police declare war against drugs in Mujib Barsho: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwari said that the biggest challenge for police during the Mujib Barsho is to free the country from drugs. That is why the police have declared war on drugs nationwide.  In addition, to liberate the country from drugs, people from all walks of life must come forward. Police have already started the process of shutting down the entry points of drugs to the country, he added.

He said this after inaugurating the newly constructed office of the Superintendent’s Office in Bagerhat on Monday. Earlier, he arrived at Khanjahan Ali College ground in Bagerhat by helicopter. From there he went to the newly built police Superintendent's office at Khardar area in the town where he inaugurated the new building by cutting ribbon and releasing balloons.

Khulna Range DIG of Police Dr. Khandaker Mohid Uddin, Zilla Parishad Chairman Sheikh Kamruzzaman Tuku, Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamunur Rashid and Superintendent of Police Pankaj Chandra Roy were present at the event.  After inaugurating the building, IGP visited various historical terracotta and planted fruit trees in front of the police Superintendent's office, which has been constructed at a cost of Tk 9 Core.
