Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that the police force has been playing a successful role in completely suppressing militancy and terrorism

‘Currently, all types of militancy and terrorism in the country are under the control of the police’, he said this in response to a question of journalists after the inauguration of the newly built 4-storey studio apartment inside the Sunamganj city police outpost on Friday afternoon.

The IGP said that after taking charge, prime Minister  Sehikh Hasina has been working sincerely to increase the capacity of Bangladesh Police. The members of the police force have been trained in the country and abroad to make them suitable for the current digital Bangladesh. As a result, if any incident occurs in the country, the police can immediately take action and find out the cause of the incident through information technology.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has increased police facilities after coming to power. It is not an expense for the police; but an investment.

‘If the police facilities are increased, the police will be able to fulfill their duties with truth and devotion. Along with that, people across the country will be benefited from the police service” he added.

Superintendent of Police of Sunamganj Mohammad Ehsan Shah, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sunamganj Sadar Police Station Khaled Chowdhury and senior police officers were present at that time.
