To ensure the security of the reliable and essential Mobile Financial Service (MFS) and to combat its misuse in criminal activities, the district police of Mymensingh and Bandarban, in collaboration with bKash, recently organised two separate training workshops.

A total of 130 investigating officers from the Mymensingh camp and Bandarban district police participated in these day-long workshops titled “Investigation and Prevention of Misuse of Mobile Financial Services.”

The events were held at the police lines drill sheds of each respective district, according to a press release.

Mymensingh Superintendent of Police Kazi Akhtar Ul Alam and Bandarban Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidullah Kowsar, PPM (Bar), attended the workshops as chief guests.

Major A.K.M. Monirul Karim (Retd), EVP & HoD, External Affairs at bKash, also joined both sessions.

The workshops discussed in detail how to leverage information to identify criminal gangs and bring them to justice.

Topics covered included how investigating officers can use advanced technology to trace lost customer funds, monitor digital transactions to prevent crimes such as kidnapping, and easily communicate with bKash officials during investigations.

Additionally, the sessions highlighted immediate steps law enforcement can take when a criminal incident occurs.

The traceable nature of digital transactions empowers investigators from the Police, DB, CID, and PBI to combat crime more effectively.

bKash strengthens this capability through its “Investigation and Prevention of Misuse of Mobile Financial Services” workshops, which have been held regularly for law enforcement personnel since 2017.

To date, nearly 4,500 officials from various law enforcement agencies across the country have benefited from these sessions.
