Police active to combat corona spread across country

As the rate of Corona infection is increasing in the country again, police department has become active to combat the virus. The law enforcers have taken various necessary steps, including awareness and distribution of facemask. 

In Rajbari, police gave taken initiatives to take necessary steps to stay safe in the pandemic. Rajbari District Police in the town on Sunday stated a program of distributing mask and sanitizers to make citizens cautious against the second stage of corona virus infection, reports our Rajbari Correspondent. 

Rajbari Police Super MM Shakiluzzaman distributed masks and sanitizers in Barapul area of the district in the morning. Rajbari-1 MP Kazi Keramat Ali , Mayor Alamgir Sheikh Titu, Assistant Superintendent of Police MdSalauddin, Sadar Police Station OC Swapan Kumar Majumder and other police personnel were also present at the program.

SP Shakiluzzaman said, “Police have been playing a leading role in combating corona in the country from the very beginning. The campaign was launched simultaneously across the country from Sunday under the direction of IGP.”

Rajbari-1 MP Alhaj Kazi Keramat Ali said, “We applaud the initiative of the police. We have been able to tackle the first step of Corona. If we are all aware, we will be able to tackle the second step as well.”

Mayor Alamgir Sheikh Titu said, “We will co-operate with the police in the work that the police started on Sunday to raise awareness through the distribution of masks and sanitizers and will take such initiatives from the Rajbari municipality.”

Of the 3498 people infected with corona virus in the district so far, 1883 are in Sadar upazila, 767 in Pangsha upazila, 229 in Kalukhali upazila, 329 in Baliakandi upazila and 280 in Goaland upazila. So far, 30 people have died of corona in the district.

In Jhalakathi, district Police took initiative to distribute masks and leaflets among citizens against the spread of the second wave of COVID-19 in the town on Sunday, reports our Jhalakathi Correspondent.

Additional DIG of Barishal Range Md Ahsanullah on Sunday inaugurated the mask distribution ceremony at Fire Service Intersection of the town. He and his team of police personnel advised pedestrians who were not wearing masks at that time. They also provide masks to mask less pedestrians and passengers.

District Awami League President Md Shah Alam, General Secretary Khan Saifullah, ASP Md Habibullah, Senior ASP Sakhwat Hossain, Upazila Parishad Chairman Khan Arifur Rahman and other were present at the ceremony.

DIG Md Ehsanullah said that the second wave of COVID-19 has already hit the country. Jhalakathi Police thus have taken the initiatives to make citizens aware of the danger of COVID-19 and pursued them to use masks to prevent further spread.

In Jhenaidah, district police distributed face mask among common people to prevent the global havoc of corona virus on Sunday, reports our Jhenidah Correspondent. The masks were distributed at Jhenaidah post office intersection, central bus terminal, Pairachatter, Arappur and some other important crowd points. Superintendent of police (SP) in Jhenaidah Muntasirul Islam distributed the face masks aiming at keep everybody protected from the slap of the global pandemic, said the police sources.

SP Muntasirul Islam said as the trend of infection and death following pandemic corona virus started increasing day by day, they have been distributing the mass among common people free of cost as a part of aware them about the havoc to mask the country covid-free.

Additional SP Anwar Sayeed, officer in charge of Jhenaidah Sadar police station Mijanur Rahma., senior traffic inspector Salahuddin among others remains present there. Police super advised the people to wear face mask and keep them safe from the infection of covid 19 as against bring them in law for legal steps. He expressed each and everybody will maintain social distances and wear face masks.

In Faridpur, Police have taken initiative to encourage people using mask to counter the second wave of COVID-19 on Sunday reports our Faridpur Correspondent. 

Faridpur Police Super Md Alimuzzaman on Sunday inaugurated the mask distribution ceremony at the Janata Bank Intersection of the town. 

Additional Police Super Suman Ranjan Sarker, District Detective Brunch OC Sunil Kumar Karmakar, Sargent Tuhin Lashkar, Faridpur Municipality Councilor Golam Md Nasim and others were present at the program.

SP Md Alimuzzaman said that according to the guidance of Bangladesh Police, every police station in all districts have taken initiatives to encourage citizens to use masks. “We will continue the program till the situation improves”, he added.
