Poet-writer Rahim Ibn Bahaj was honored at a poetry recite event in Melandah Upazila . On this occasion, Abdul Hakim Sarkar Kalyan Trust and Saikat Sahitya Sangsad organized a discussion meeting at Melandah Reporters Unityon Sunday.
The function was organised with the support of Melandah Reporters’ Unity, the chief guest was - Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib University of Science and Technology (Bashemuprabi) Research Cell Director, writer, researcher Prof Dr. Mahmudul Hasan. The programme was presided over by Md. Shah Jamal, Founding Director of Saikat Sahitya Sangsad, Ittefaq Correspondent. Speaker Ashraful Mannan gave the opening speech. The main discussant was famous dramatist Asadullah Faraji.
Among others, former organszational commander of the district freedom fighters Jahangir Alam Babu, guerrilla fighter Abul Hossain, poet and mountaineer Dr. Dhruvjyoti Ghosh Mukul, poet Sheikh Fazal, Bangladesh Betar-BTV vocalist Biplab Mandal, poet Suleiman, journalist Alamgir Ahmed Shahjahan, Reporters Unity vice-president-lyricist Fazlul Karim (Newspaper), General Secretary Sheikh Farid (Bangladesh Daily), Head of Adra Abdul Mannan High School Teacher-poet and lyricist Farhad Hossain, poet Rahim Ibn Bahaj and President of Bashemuprabi Journalist Association Al Fahad were present there.
A cultural programme including poetry recitation by local poets-writers was also organised on the occasion.
