Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the people of the country.
He informed the very name ' Livelihood Development Project for the Marginal People' ( Prantik Jonogosthir Jibonman Unnayan Prokolpo) was given by Prime Minister Hasina herself. Due to her abled leadership widespread development is visible elsewhere in the country. The government is working to ensure women's empowerment and to build the women of the country as self-esteemed citizens.
Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton was exchanging views with CDC leaders of the Red Rose Cluster of Marginal People under RCC at Kasiadanga area of the city on Monday noon. RCC Mayor Liton further said, various development projects are being implemented in Rajshahi and he has been working for the welfare of the people of Rajshahi. He mentioned, he is with the people of Rajshahi and hoped the people of Rajshahi will also be with him.
RCC Mayor further mentioned, he has been striving for creating employment opportunities and industrialisation in Rajshahi. Already the works BSCIC Industrial estate-2 have been completed and the plots will be allocated soon separately for women entrepreneurs. He said spaces will be allocated to establish sales centres for female entrepreneurs at the markets of City Corporation.
Mayor Liton informed us, the work of setting up a bank from the fund collected from the Livelihood Development Project for Marginal People is also progressing fast. CDC members will be benefitted from this bank, he added.
Vice-President of Rajshahi city AL, Social worker Shahin Akhter Reni in the meeting said, there is a stark difference between Bangladesh 20 years ago and 20 years later. Bangladesh is progressing fast under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and will continue to progress further. She mentioned, now the names of mothers in addition to the fathers' names of the children are mentioned in the certificates and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has honoured the women by adding the mothers' names. She introduced various allowances for helpless people and has been working to build an excellent future for the new generations.

Among others, the meeting was addressed by RCC Panel Mayor-2 Ward Councillor Rajab Ali, Panel Mayor-3 Tahera Khatun Mili, Adviser of Marginal People Organisation Ariful Haque Kumar, Member Secretary of the Project and chief engineer of RCC Nur Islam Tushar, Chief Community Dev Officer Azizur Rahman, CDC leaders Runa Laila and Parvin.
