Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called for international support to ensure the dignified repatriation of Rohingyas to their homeland and find a sustainable solution to the prolonged crisis.
He made the appeal when Julie Bishop, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General on Myanmar, paid a courtesy call on him during his visit to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the need for greater international cooperation to facilitate the dignified return of Rohingyas and address the protracted crisis, said his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.
The discussion also focused on strengthening the role of the international community in resolving the Rohingya crisis and creating conditions conducive to a sustainable solution.
