PM to inaugurate PKSF Dev Fair today

A seven-day ‘Development Fair’ under theauspices of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) is set to begin today in thecity with a view to expanding the market of products made by marginal people and participants of different programmes of PKSF. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the fair at theBangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), said PKSF Chairman DrQaziKholiquzzaman Ahmad at a press briefing at Jatiya Press Club here onMonday.

In the inaugural session of the fair, lifetime achievement award will begiven to a distinguished person for contributing to the field of povertyalleviation, sustainable development and establishing dignity of human being. Five seminars will also be arranged in the seven-day fair.

A total of 130 organisations, including associate bodies of PKSF fromrural areas, different public and private organizations, research andinformation technology (IT) institutions and service-oriented organizationswill set up 190 stalls in the fair. Agricultural, foods and traditional products manufactured by smallentrepreneurs of grassroots level will be on display. The fair will remain open for visitors from 10 am to 8:30 pm every day.
