State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking the dark country on the path of development as a beacon of light. Under his able leadership, the Padma Bridge has been built with his own funds.
“I was able to cross the Padma Bridge of my dreams and come to pay my respects at Bangabandhu's tomb in a short time. We are grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu. We are working under the strong leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the successor of her blood, to establish the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu's dream. We will work to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh. Bangabandhu has introduced us. He gave an independent country. Bangabandhu means Bangladesh; Bangladesh means Bangabandhu,” he said.
The state minister paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with flowers at Tungipara in Gopalganj today and said this after prayers.
At that time, the acting chairman of BIWTA, Md. Abdus Sattar, Chief Engineer (Dredging) Abdul Matin, Gopalganj District Awami League General Secretary Mahabub Ali Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) AKM Hedayetul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Khairul Alam, Tungipara Upazila Awami League General Secretary Md. Babul Sheikh, Tungipara Upazila Chairman Mohammad Solaiman Biswas, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul and others were present.
After reciting the Holy Fateha and Darood, all including the State Minister offered special prayers and prayers for the forgiveness of the souls of Bangabandhu and all the martyrs killed in his family on 15 August 1975, and for the health and longevity of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu.
The state minister later took part in milad and doa mahfil after performing Jumma prayers at the mosque adjacent to Bangabandhu’s tomb.
