Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given a grant of Tk 21 lakh to Nomita Ghosh, an artiste of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, for cancer and eye treatment. A cheque for Tk 21 lakh was sent to the artist on Wednesday. The Prime Minister's Press Wing has confirmed the matter to the media.
Nomita Ghosh is suffering from cancer and eye diseases. When the news reached the ears of the Prime Minister, she decided to stand by the side of this artiste who had made an outstanding contribution to the Liberation War.
Nomita Ghosh is one of the people who contributed in various ways to the great War of Independence. She is the first female artiste of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra. In the War of Independence, she inspired the freedom fighters by singing songs.
She has collected money for the freedom fighters by singing songs. At the age of 14, she joined Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and indirectly participated in the freedom struggle.
