PM sends mangoes, hilsa to Tripura Chief Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent 400 kg of Haribhanga mangoes from Rangpur, along with 50 kg of Hilsa fish and 50 kg of Rasgulla sweets, as a gift to Tripura's Chief Minister, Manik Saha.

Manik Saha is serving as the 11th and current Chief Minister of Tripura since 2022.

The gifts were delivered at Akhaura Land Port in Brahmanbaria on Thursday afternoon. Bangladesh Assistant High Commission's First Secretary, Rezaul Haque Chowdhury, and Mohammad Al Amin received them at the zero line, with Customs Superintendent Divendu Bhowmik accepting on behalf of Integrated Checkpost, Tripura, India.

Officials including Assistant Commissioner (Land) SM Rahatul Islam, Customs Superintendent Abdul Kaiyum Talukdar, and Immigration Office in Charge Khairul Alam were present from both countries.

Both sides expressed that such exchanges strengthen the cordial relations between India and Bangladesh.

Earlier on June 23, Chief Minister Manik Saha sent 500 kg of Ranijat pineapples, famous from Tripura, to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a gesture of goodwill.
