The ongoing campaign against corrupt political leaders is an exemplary initiative taken by the Prime Minister. Before this the ‘zero tolerance’ policy against any sort of terrorism or religious extremism was harshly dealt with by the law enforcement personnel in the country. However, these small time culprits once brought under the reign of law was still not enough to bring law and order on a wide scale across the country. But, with the recent initiatives of bringing corrupt bigwigs under the law, it can be said that there has been a massive shift in the overall crime scene of

the country.

Even though the ‘zero tolerance’ anti-corruption drives have been going on in the capital yet the effect can be seen countrywide. Reports have been published in this daily that portray a scene where many leaders of the ruling party and it its associate bodies are under surveillance of law enforcers. But with the Prime Minister now in New York there hasn’t been any approval of action to be taken against these top level corrupt members.

The authorities concerned should maintain

a vigilant eye towards the wrongdoers

and root out corruption from every corner of society

However, despite this fact the intelligence agencies in the country are working to list down the remaining members who are still out an about. This is undoubtedly a laudable stand against domestic terrorism. But until the return of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina no concrete step can be taken without any presentable proof.

It is no doubt that the days of corrupt people in politics and administration are numbered and with the way things are progressing soon the last nail in the coffin will be struck. The authorities concerned should maintain a vigilant eye towards the wrongdoers and root out corruption from every corner of society.
