Sheikh Helal Uddin, MP from Bagerhat-1 constituency, distributed relief items among destitute and unemployed people amid the novel coronavirus outbreak ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Monday.
Sheikh Helal Uddin sent food items to Tungipara upazila for distribution. Tungipara Upazila AL leaders distributed the food items including rice, pulses, potatoes, salt, oil, polao rice, powder milk, vermicelli and sugar among home stuck disabled, unemployed helpless people for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, on behalf of the MP at the newly constructed Patgati bus stand in Tungipara Upazila at on Monday afternoon.
At this time Gopalganj district AL unit publicity secretary M. Badrul Alam Badar, General Secretary of Tungipara Upazila AL unit Md. Babul Sheikh, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Ahmed Hossain Mirza and other leaders were present.
M Badrul Alam Badar said on Sunday food items were distributed among 8,100 corona affected families in Tungipara, Kotalipara and municipal area. And on Monday 500 more families received relief in Tungipara upazila at the funding of Sheikh Helal Uddin MP.
The gift items were distributed at the newly constructed Patgati bus stand in Tungipara Upazila at 5 pm on Monday.
During the occasion, Gopalganj district Awami League publicity secretary M. Badrul Alam Badar, General Secretary of Tungipara Upazila Awami League Md. Babul Sheikh, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Ahmed Hossain Mirza, Former Freedom Fighter Commander Sheikh Jahangir Hossain, Former General Secretary of Upazila Chhatra League Gazi Ashikur Rahman Bashar, General Secretary of Municipal Awami League Md. Forkan Biswas, Former Municipal Councilor Mainul Islam Apu and other leaders were present.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Khandaker Manjurul Haque Lablu, former student leader and director of Agrani Bank Limited, food items were distributed among 600 helpless, destitute, disabled and unemployed corona affected people as Eid gift in Tungipara on Tuesday.
On behalf of Khandaker Manjurul Haque Lablu, Sheikh Mottahidur Rahman Shiru, a member of Gopalganj District Awami League and former president of District Chhatra League, handed over the gifts (food items) to the leaders of Tungipara Upazila AL unit for distribution while maintaining social distance.
On the other hand, Tungipara Upazila AL leaders distributed food items among 400 families in Tungipara and Kotalipara upazila sent by Chattogram MP Nezamuddin Nadwi on behalf of Prime Minister on Tuesday.
The food items were distributed at Chowrangi New Bus Stand in Tungipara Upazila.
Tungipara Upazila AL general secretary Mohammad Babul Sheikh, municipal mayor Sheikh Ahmed Hossain Mirza, former freedom fighter commander Sheikh Jahangir Hossain and others were present at the time.
It may be mentioned that food item were distributed among 600 families in Kotalipara Upazila in the same way earlier.
