PM’s gift distributed at Lakshmipur Mandaps

Alike the whole country Mahanabami of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community wascelebratedamid a festive mood in Lakshmipur on Thursday.

On the occasion, Lakshmipur-1 MPDr Anwar Hossain Khan visited various puja Mandaps including Karpara, Noagaon, Brahmyapara, Sonapur, Harisasabha Mandaps of Ramganj in Lakshmipur.

The MP was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lakshmipur Anwar Hossain Akando, Superintendent of Police Dr AHM Kamruzzaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nur A Alam, Ramganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tapti Chakma and others. 

Meanwhile, festival gifts provided by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was handed over to about 4,000 people in different places including Karpara, Noagaon and municipal areas of the upazila in two days till Wednesday night. 

The gift items included 10 kg of rice, one kg of sugar, one kg of lentils, one liter of soybean oil, vermicelli and five other items. 

On the other hand, the District Administration and Relief Disaster Management Department allotted one MT of rice to each of the 78 Puja Mandaps.

Meanwhile, a large number of law enforcers including police, RAB, Armed Ansar Battalion have been deployed in the Mandaps to avoid any untoward incident. 

The MP,  the DC and the SPcalled on the people to maintain peaceful sympathy in each Mandap. 

At this time along with AL party leaders, priests and common devotees were present at the Mandaps. However, no untoward incident has been reported in the district so far.

Today (Friday) is Bijoya Dashami, the last day of the Puja. 

The puja will end with the immersion of the Durga idols across the country.
