PM mourns death of Feni AL leader

Prime Minister and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Meer Abdul Hannan, the Liberation War Affairs Secretary of Feni District Awami League. In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family, an AL press release said, reports BSS.

Hannan, also the Feni District Freedom Fighters’ Commander, died at a hospital in the capital this morning at the age of 72. He left behind his wife, two sons and two daughters as well as a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. In a separate condolence message, Sheikh Hasina mourned the death Md Ali Akbar Hawlader, father of Moshiur Rahman Shihab, a member of the AL Sub-Committee on Agriculture and Cooperatives.

She also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family. Ali Akbar Hawlader died of a heart attack at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) here at 8 pm on Tuesday at the age of 85. He left behind his wife, two sons and four daughters as well as a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death, the release said.
