Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will brief the media on her visit to the United States to attend the 74th United Nations General Assembly last month and just-conclude visit to India on Wednesday (Oct 9). The media briefing will start at 3:30pm at her official Ganobhaban residence, a statement sent by the Press Wing of the Prime Minister's Office said on Monday, reports BSS.

Oct 3, Hasina left Dhaka for New Delhi on a four-day official visit to attend the India Economic Summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF). During her first India visit after assuming office for the third consecutive term, Hasina paid a courtesy call on Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, held bilateral talks with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, and met Indian National Congress President Sonia Gandhi. On Sept 20, Hasina left Dhaka for an eight-day official visit to New York to attend the 74th Session of the UNGA.

Apart from joining the UNGA Session, the premier joined a number of high-level events on Universal Health Coverage, climate change adaptation, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), foreign relations, Rohingya crisis, education and global drug problem, and met UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Hasina also received two global prestigious awards — UNICEF’s ‘Champion of Skill Development for Youth’ and GAVI’s ‘Vaccine Hero’ — in recognition of Bangladesh’s great success in youth skill development and vaccination respectively.
