PM greets students who pass SSC, equivalent exams

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday greeted the students who have come out successful in this year’s SSC and its equivalent examinations. In a message, the PM, who is now in London on an official visit, expressed her hope that the students who have done well in SSC and equivalent exams will keep up their good performance and achieve even better results in the future.

Alongside, PM Sheikh Hasina also commiserated with those who have failed to pass their exams. She asked them to take preparations again. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni read out the message sent by Hasina during the announcement of the results. Hasina also spoke during the programme by phone.
The prime minister expressed her sorrow for not being able to attend the announcement of the results this year.

According to the results announced by the education minister, 82.2 percent of examinees passed SSC and equivalent exams this year, and the number of GPA-5 achievers is 105,594. Last year, the pass rate in the SSC and equivalent exams was 77.77 percent and the number of GPA-5 achievers was 110,629. The pass rate is 4.43 percentage points higher than in the previous year. The number of GPA-5 achievers has decreased by 5,035 this year. Over 2.13 million students took part in this year’s SSC and equivalent exams.
