Finally, the wish of special needs baby Mamzia Rahman Raya got fulfilled. September 17 (Thursday) will be one of the best days of her life because her greatest wish got fulfilled on this day.
In a video message, Raya said she wanted the prime minister to video call her. And she is waiting for this every day. But a day after the video was released, the Prime Minister herself made a video call to Raya. She talked to her and heard Raya’s poem recitation.
On Thursday afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a video call on Raya’s mother Nabiha Rahman Pinki’s mobile phone. Raya’s mother expressed gratitude towards her for the role of a head of government that the prime minjster played in fulfilling the wishes of a child with special needs.
She said that she did not think that she was talking to the Prime Minister due to the sincere behavior of the Prime Minister in the sudden call. It was as if I was talking to my mother or aunt, said Nabiha Rahman.
She further said that Raya sang the national anthem ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’ to the Prime Minister in the video call. The Prime Minister also sang along with Raya in the national anthem. Besides, Raya recited a poem to the Prime Minister.
A day earlier, Raya’s school teacher Hasina Hafiz posted a video with the message ‘Raya wants to talk to the Prime Minister’ on a Facebook group called Autism Management Center. There Raya said she loves the Prime Minister very much and wants to talk to her in a video call. Raya also said that the smile of the Prime Minister is her favorite.
In the video, teacher Hasina Hafiz is seen saying that she inboxes a picture of the Prime Minister to Raya every morning. She also appealed to the Prime Minister to fulfill Ray’s wishes in one of the gaps of her official engagement as a teacher.
The day after the video reached the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister fulfilled her wish by giving a video call to Raya.
