The field of Faizul Haque Primary School in Chitalmari Upazila of Bagerhat is being used as the only playground here. However, the current condition of this field is miserable.
The condition of the field is completely unsuitable for playing. As a result, the players are not getting the right environment for their practice or playing. According to the locals and players, the demand for the construction of a mini stadium along with the renovation of the field is becoming increasingly strong.
The field of Faizul Haque Primary School has lost its suitability for playing due to lack of renovation for a long time. The field is uneven, becomes muddy after rains and there is a lack of drainage system as well. As a result, local players are not being able to practice regularly. Due to the lack of necessary facilities for sports, young players are losing interest. The talent development of the players here is being hampered due to the inability to practice football, cricket, volleyball and other sports properly.
Upazila sportspersons and players believe that the construction of a mini stadium in Chitalmari will bring about a huge change in the local sports field. They said, ‘having a mini stadium in a small place like ours will increase the interest of the youth in playing and they will be able to practice well.’
Also, if there is a mini stadium, it will be possible to organize various tournaments here, which will be helpful in the development of local sports. The players and sportspersons are drawing the attention of the local administration and the concerned authorities, saying, ‘If we build a mini stadium here, new horizons will open up in the sports development of the young generation. If the field can be renovated and a mini stadium can be built, then the sports field of Chitalmari will be further enriched and the youth here will get the opportunity to play at the national level.’
It is to be noted that an application has already been made to the administration for the renovation of the field and the construction of a mini stadium. The local people are hopeful that their demand will be implemented soon and Chitalmari will get a modern playground.
