Players’ transfer window ends today

The mid-window of the inter-club players’ transfer to end today with all big clubs participated in the procedure to sign up players from home and abroad when the second leg of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football will kick off from April 24 with two matches will take places in two different venues in the opening day. 

Almost all the top frontrunners teams signed up both foreign and local booters during the transfer window to exhilarate their strength.

Specially, to retain the title, the champions Bashundhara Kings, six times champions Abahani Limited to regain the title, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Mohammedan Sporting Club and the strugglers Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra are the big names participated in the transfer deal. 

However, the second phase will be interrupted for three times after the 13th round of the league when after two matches on the opening day on April 24 and four matches on April 25, there will be two days interval for Sab-E-Barat.  There will be another three days interval for Eid-ul-Fitr after six matches taking place, then after continuing for a weak 7 to 13 May, the league will be held over for one and five days from My 14 to June 19.

For the Asia Cup qualifying round matches the National team’s camp and for the AFC Cup Group Stage matches from May 16 to 25 June, FIFA international window for friendly affairs and the AFC Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers from June 8 to 14, the league will standstill. 

The 16th round of the League will start from June 20 and the league will continue up to July 7 at a stretch and then there will be another break for a week for the Eid-ul-Azha and the league expected to end on July 27 after resuming from July 14. 

Meanwhile, Bashundhara Kings the defending champions of the Bangladesh Premier League football will play in the AFC Cup group stage scheduled to take place from May 18 to 24 in Kolkata, India.
