"I urged you (youth) to be more vigilant so that evil forces cannot be on the way of our (national) growth,” said the Minister adding, “We are making great progress under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We cannot afford to give militants any opportunity to rise again."

The minister came up with the call while addressing a seminar on ‘Budget Tertiary Education to Attain SDG's’ held at Mozaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium Bhaban at Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday.

Centre on Budget and Policy and Reading Club jointly organized the seminar.

MA Mannan said, "Bangladesh is now globally well known as a fast growing economy. We are about to graduate from LDC to middle income country and we must keep this pace of development to achieve the goal."

He urged the youth to play positive roles in nation building so that other communities are also inspired.

He also called upon the youth to make constructive criticism of the government, especially budget, policies and other key issues.
