Planting trees vital to keep ecological balance

There is a close relationship between trees and the environment. We deforest with little or no reason. Trees play an important role in maintaining the balance of a country's environment. Trees not only give us oxygen, the contribution of trees to every moment of our life-style is undeniable and incomparable.

As a result of tree killing, the effects of lightning, no rain, heavy rain, landslides, cyclones are increasing day by day in the country. Therefore, it is not right to cut down trees and devastate forests. Without forests, the natural environment would become warmer, the earth would become a desert, and human existence would be endangered.

There is no substitute for tree plantation to protect nature and environment. Deforestation is increasing day by day due to human demand. Due to which nature is losing balance. Pollution free healthy environment is absolutely necessary for healthy living. The role of plantation and forest conservation is one of the role of creating a healthy environment free from pollution.

A large amount of deforestation has occurred in Ukhia and Taknaf areas due to the temporary sheltering of the Forcedly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) or Rohingya population. Now we need to plant a lot of trees in this region to balance the environment and protect it from climate change problems.

Adequate planting of trees can compensate for tree damage caused by fire and avoid natural disasters like floods and landslides.

The speakers gave the above opinion at the opening ceremony of the tree planting program in the camp number 9 area of Ukhia under the initiative of Ipsa and with the support of Solidar Swiss. Senior Assistant Secretary and Camp-in-Charge (CIC) Md. Tanjim was present as the chief guest in the event of Ipsa plantation inauguration. Country Director of Solider Swiss Aman Ullah, Head of Rohingya Response and Assistant Director of Ipsa Mohammad Shahidul Islam,

Livelihood Coordinator of Solider Swiss Anarul Haque, Coordinator of Rohingya Response Program of Ipsa Jesus Bara were present as special guests. In the meeting, the project

coordinator of the project, Mostak Ahmed, discussed the tree planting program in detail.

Representatives of IOM working in the camp, WFP representatives and representatives of various national and international humanitarian development organizations participated in the meeting. Ipsa's MMT Officer Noble Bara, Mill Officer Sanat Mukhary, and Shamim Parvez were present in the meeting.

It should be noted here that Ipsa has planted 6 thousand trees in the said camps in collaboration with Solidar Swiss and has adopted a plan to plant about 16 thousand trees this year and take care of the planted trees after planting. Ipsa's representatives presented the plan for the successful completion of the tree planting program during this rainy season and requested the cooperation of all present in this regard.
