In a bid to create livelihoods for rural people and alleviate poverty, the government has taken an initiative to set up 64,000 biogas plants in 64 districts of the country.

This initiative will not only create sustainable employment opportunities but will also be environment friendly and cost-effective. If implemented, the project will provide employment and self-employment to the rural youth by setting up cattle, poultry farms, and biogas plants through training and loan assistance and will meet the demand for protein through production of milk, eggs, meat, and so on in the country.

Proper use of

biogas plants

will decrease the reliance on

natural gas

and firewood

Proper use of biogas plants will decrease the reliance on natural gas and firewood. This will decrease deforestation and will make the soil more fertile, arable. The marginal people will also be benefited financially, as they will be able to save their hard-earned money by using biogas and not purchasing kerosine, firewood, or other materials for lighting or cooking.

Initiatives have been taken to implement the project and to expand it across the country based on local demand. We know that there is a huge level of demand for biogas on rural level as it brings a significant level of benefit to them, by considering that there should be constant measures for these projects from the government and other non-governmental organisations. Government needs to provide subsidies to encourage the expansion of renewable energy.

All in all, this project will make us build a digital and environmentally friendly sustainable technology, which will bring a lot of benefits to our people. If this project is successfully implemented then it will not only upgrade the old inefficient energy source, we use but will also propel us towards a more methodical and efficient one.

This initiative will not only create sustainable employment opportunities but will also be environment friendly and cost-effective.
