The media cell set up at the Press Information Department (PID) is working to provide information round the clock to mass media about the steps and initiatives taken by the government for coping with flood situation and dengue outbreak. The cell also helps disseminate cautionary messages to remain alert about rumours, said an official handout released Saturday.

For disaster related information services, one can get cautionary massages for river ports, daily weather bulletin, special cautionary messages for cyclone and flood by calling at 1090 (toll free). One can give flood related information calling at Water Resources Ministry’s telephone number 029540701 and mobile number 01318234560.
Besides, the people are requested to call at 999 to get cooperation from police about any suspicious things or rumors.
