Department of Fisheries under its National Technology Programme, Phase-2, has distributed two pick-up vans at a subsidized rate among fishermen members under CIG Association through a function held at Bagmara upazila parishad premises on Sunday noon.
Among others, the function was attended by Upazila Chairman Anil Kumar Sarker, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharif Ahmed, Fisheries Officer Rabiul Karim, Agriculture Officer Rajibur Rahman, Animal Resource Officer Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Fisheries Extension Officer Mahmudur Rahman, Field Assistant Abdul Gaffar and Kamal Kumar Sarker. Members of the Fishermen Association were also present at the function.
It is learnt, the pick-up vans capable of carrying live fish were handed over to the fishmen at a subsidized rate of Taka 387,000 each as against the regular price of Taka 785,000 each.
