Bangladesh is a promising pharmaceutical products exporter in the world and the annual export volume of this product has almost doubled in the last six years, said State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman on Tuesday.
The state minister said the figure was $136 million in 2019-2020 fiscal year, at the same period, the individual yearly growth rates in the export market were higher than the domestic market.
He was addressing as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of two day "DIU Pharma Career Expo-2023 & World Pharmacists Day Celebration" organised by Daffodil International University at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia , Savar, Dhaka.
State Minister further said now Pharmaceutical products of Bangladesh is exported to 155 countries of the world maintaining the world class quality and standard which is the 2nd highest export quantity in the export products list.
Department of Pharmacy of the university in association with Skill jobs .com and Career Development Center of the university organized the program.
This year's theme for World Pharmacists Day 2023 is "Pharmacy strengthening health systems" and the celebration of this occasion at the DIU premises is going to be an exciting and enriching experience, bringing together pharmaceutical professionals, students, and enthusiasts from all over Bangladesh.
Md. Moshiur Rahman, Adviser, Corporate Training Affairs of Health Care Pharmaceuticals Ld. was present as the special guest at the program.
The closing session was also addressed by Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean, Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Md. Bellal Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Science and Dr. Sharifa Sultana, Associate Head of the Department of Pharmacy of the university.
The two-day event brought together students, academics, and professionals from the pharmaceutical industry to share their knowledge, expertise, and research.
The festival aimed to provide a platform for students and professionals to exchange ideas and insights about the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.
