The first source of energy security in Bangladesh is the petroleum sector. Bangladesh is mostly dependent on petroleum for energy. In Bangladesh, the scope of mining is very wide, said Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) Chairman Md. Amin-Ul-Ahsan on Wednesday.
“We must increase domestic production. Chittagong is the most important region of the petroleum sector. Therefore, we think that CUET will play an important role in this. Students have to set their own vision from now and work for it. Success will be achieved with hard perseverance and effort”, he said.
BPC Chairman was addressing a seminar organized by the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department at the Central Auditorium of CUET on Wednesday morning.
CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan was present on the occasion as the guest of honor.

Petroleum and mining engineers must use science and technology to build a safe, environmentally friendly and efficient future. This is beneficial not only for Bangladesh but for the entire humanity”. He hoped that CUET students can develop themselves not only as skilled engineers but also as researchers, innovators and human leaders. For this, we all have to come forward from our respective positions.
