A poor female petitioner of an attempt to rape case is under pressure by the case investigator to compromise the case.
The accused Helal Mahmud, son of Ali Ahmed, resident of Khilmarket area under Fatulla police station, attempted to rape a six-year old girl on 23 October.
Locals captured the accused and handed over to police soon after the incident.
The victim’s mother filed a case (no-68) under Child Repression Prevention Act with Fatulla model police station against the accused.
According to the petitioner’s statement, the case investigator pressurizes her to make a deal with the accused in terms of money.
When tried to contact the case investigator over cell phone, he tactfully avoided the context.
It may be mentioned here that the vitim’s family hailed from Rangpur district and lived at Khilmarket area as a tenant. Father of the victim is a rickshaw puller.
The petitioner added that they live from hand to mouth and that they are under pressure by both the locals and the investigator.
