Sky Sports announced on Sunday that Peter Drury, an experienced commentator, will be joining them for the coverage of the top-flight English football league starting from the 2023/24 season.

This announcement coincides with the news that Martin Tyler, a legendary commentator who has led the company's Premier League coverage for over 30 years, will be leaving ahead of the upcoming season.

Drury boasts an impressive career spanning over 30 years in both TV and radio. He will join an esteemed team of Sky Sports commentators, including Rob Hawthorne, Bill Leslie, Seb Hutchinson, Dan Mann, Gary Weaver, and Ian Crocker, for the upcoming campaign.

Recognized for his outstanding talent, Drury has received multiple broadcasting awards, including being named the Football Supporters' Association Commentator of the Year for three out of the last four seasons. As a member of the Comcast family, he will also continue his role with NBC, providing commentary on their Premier League coverage.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Drury stated, "I'm massively excited to be joining Sky's outstanding roster of commentators. To have the opportunity to work on the best games week in and week out, with a broadcaster that has been part of the Premier League story from the very beginning, feels like the pinnacle of my career. I can't wait to get started."

Gary Hughes, the director of football at Sky Sports, expressed his anticipation, saying, "We're looking forward to welcoming Peter Drury to Sky Sports. Peter is one of the game's most poetic commentators and will bring great energy, enthusiasm, and his award-winning broadcasting experience to our unrivaled coverage of the Premier League."

In addition to winning the prestigious Sports Journalists' Association Sports Commentator of the Year award in 2020, Drury has previously worked for BBC, ITV, Premier League Productions, and BT Sport.
