A seminar demanding the approval of the Development Project Proposal (DPP) for a permanent campus of Rabindra University was held on the Dhaka-Pabna highway in Buripota Jiya, Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj on Tuesday.

The event took place in front of the university's temporary academic building-3 and was attended by teachers, students, officials, and staff of Rabindra University. They have been voicing their concerns over the long delay in establishing a permanent campus for the institution.

The keynote paper was presented by Yat Singh Shubho, Chairman of the Music Department. Discussions were led by Planning Officer Chandran Mondol and Research Officer Shahidul Islam. The seminar was chaired by Acting Proctor Nazrul Islam.

Despite being established nine years ago, the university still operates from temporary facilities, with no DPP approved for a permanent campus. Teachers, students, and staff have long been urging the government to take action but have yet to receive a response.

In protest, they boycotted the university’s annual celebration on 26 July. The community continues to demand immediate government intervention to resolve the issue and ensure a proper academic environment.
