Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumdar has said that the level of satisfaction of service recipients is gradually increasing due to the successful application of modern science and information technology in land management.
He came up with the statement at the inauguration of the 'Land Fair-2025' at the conference room of the Bhoomi Bhaban in the capital on Sunday.
The event was presided over by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land ASM Saleh Ahmed and the formal inauguration of the fair was announced by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus through a video message.
The land adviser said that all land-related services including registration, ledger,land development tax are now 100% online and the payment system is cashless. As a result, an average of 10-12 crore taka revenue is being deposited in the government treasury every day.
He also said that it is important to complete survey and settlement training at the initial stage to improve the quality of land services. Through proper survey work, a new dimension will be added to the service.
All land-related services are being provided at 19 stalls during this three-day fair. In his speech as a special guest, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor and Officer-in-Charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said that some digital islands have been created in Bangladesh in the last 15 years. Now it is time to interconnect these and implement a comprehensive digital transformation. The Ministry of Land is moving in that direction.
He said that in the future, land survey work will be completed using GPS and geo-fencing technology. If the land owner wants, he can view the survey activities on Google Earth.
This will provide digital maps of land, ownership, case information, and revenue collection status—all in one platform. This will be true digitalization. After the discussion, they visited the Land Museum and toured various stalls at the fair.
