The number of people infected with coronavirus in Lakshmipur is increasing almost every day. This time, a doctor working in Kamalnagar upazila has been infected with coronavirus. He is a pediatrician at Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Kamalnagar Hospital from his home quarantine. With this, the number of patients including a doctor in Kamalnagar reached four.
The total number of corona cases in Lakshmipur district, including one doctor, reached 34. Confirming the news, the District Civil Surgeon's Office said that he would be admitted to the hospital for treatment today as per the advice of Chittagong IEDC.
A few days ago, his sample was collected from Sadar Hospital and sent to IEDC in Chittagong for coronavirus test. On the same day, his sample test report came out positive. However, the death toll from the coronavirus in Lakshmipur is 1.
The Civil Surgeon's Office also said that the report of the other deceased has not been received yet. Sadar-10, Ramganj-16, Ramgati-4 and Kamalnagar Upazila has 4 coronavirus patients.
A total of 34 people including one dead were affected in the district. Meanwhile, samples of 24 previously positive people have been collected and sent to Chittagong IEDC for coronavirus test for the second time.
But so far they are fine. The Civil Surgeon's Office said they will be sent home if their results come back negative. It may be mentioned that four doctors, nurses and 17 other health workers in the district are already in the home quarantine.
On the other hand, after the announcement of lockdown in Laxmipur on April 13, the 18th day is going on till Tuesday. meanwhile, people are ignoring the horrors of Covid-19 and in many cases do not observe social distance in hat-bazaars, neighborhoods and religious institutions. Locals demanded that more stringent action be taken in this regard.
