Bangladesh and Pakistan U-19’s tour has been postponed due to the increase rate of Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh, as a result the lock down has been extended nationwide in the country.

The Pakistan U-19 team was originally scheduled to fly out to Dhaka on 11 April for the one four-day and five 50-over matches.

However, as per a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) press release, due to a nationwide lockdown imposed by the Bangladesh government, caused an ‘indefinite postponement’ of the tour.

The cricket boards of two countries want to organize the series once the epidemic is brought under control, and they will look for a new window for the tour when the situation in Bangladesh improves.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury has said that the series will be organized only in favorable conditions.

Talking to the media, he said, "Considering the overall situation, we are in touch with the Pakistan Cricket Board. We have plans to do it at any convenient time and that's the way things are going. We will try to do it as soon as possible when the overall situation in Bangladesh is conducive for us to manage the game.

We will do it only when we feel it is appropriate to host an international team.”
