bKash Limited signed an agreement with Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) recently facilitating DSCC’s around two lakh householders’ to pay holding taxes through bKash.
Mostafizur Rahman, chief executive officer (CEO) of DSCC and Kamal Quadir, CEO, bKash exchanged the agreement at a programme held at the Nagar Bhavan in the city recently, said a press release.
Md. Yousuf Ali Sarder, chief revenue officer, Md. Abu Taiyeb Rokon, system analyst & head of ICT of DSCC and Miznur Rashid, chief commercial officer, Masrur Chowdhury, head, Alternative Channel of bKash along with other high officials from both the organisations were present during the ceremony.
Under the partnership, bKash customers will be able to pay the holding taxes from personal bKash accounts 24/7 from anywhere in the country. The customers need to dial *247# and following some interactive steps for successful payment. Soon customers will be able to pay the taxes through bKash app also.
As the tax payers can pay the taxes easily through bKash without visiting any bank branches it will mobilize the overall tax collections of DSCC.
DSCC’s other services fee/ taxes like Trade License fees, market rent and other fees will also be paid through bKash soon.
Launched in 2011, bKash, a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US based Money in Motion, International Finance Corporation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Ant Financial, operates as a payment service provider offering broad range of mobile/digital financial services under the regulation of Bangladesh Bank.
