A female imposter has allegedly cheated more than 100 youngmen by publishing ' Patri Chai' ( Groom Wanted) Advertisements on the Matrimonial Page of newspapers by offering the proposed groom citizenship in Canada or handing over him the business there. Sadia Jannat alias Jannatul Ferdous has been cheating the young men for the last 10-year in this way.
It is learnt, Sadia Jannat has so far swindled more than Taka 300 Million (Tk.30 crore) from many people making them paupers. With her second husband Enamul Hasan, Sadia is learnt to realise Taka 40 Lakh from some young men in a single day through publishing the Patro Chai advertisement in the newspapers. More than 100 persons became victims of her cheating.
Sadia disclosed various technics of her cheating during the interrogation of CID in police remand. However, husband of Sadia, key accused of the fraudsters and four other accused are still absconding.
