Parliament Members Club greets Dr Shirin on her 53rd birthday

Parliament Members’ Club (PMC) on Sunday greeted Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhruy marking her 53rd birthday at her office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, reports BSS.

A delegation of PMC led by its President and Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury Liton greeted Dr Shirin with a flower bouquet. Chairman of parliamentary standing committee on disaster management and relief ministry and general secretary of PMC AB Tajul Islam, among others, was present. Later, secretary of JS secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan along with officials and employees greeted the Speaker by cutting a cake.

Leaders of different socio culture organisations and well-wishers also greeted Dr Shirin Sharmin with flower bouquets wished her sound health and long life. The Speaker was born on October 6 in 1966 to Rafiqullah Chaudhury, also former secretary to the Prime Minister of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1972) and Professor Naiyar Sultana, former Member, Bangladesh Public Service Commission.

Dr Shirin was elected parliament member from Rangpur 6 from ruling Awami League. Dr Shirin enrolled as an Advocate, Bangladesh Bar Council in 1994 and in the High Court Division in 1994, while in 2008 in the Appellate Division, Bangladesh Supreme Court Member.
