Nazmul Hassan Papon, Minister for Youth and Sports and the president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had a courtesy call on Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin, president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) at his residence on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m.

Papon, who made his surprise visit at the resident of Salahuddin in Baridhara in the city, was all alone, as none of the officials of Sports Ministry or BCB accompnaied him.

It was an unofficial and cordial meeting between BCB and BFF presidents and that melted the ice of their bitter experiences of last few months.

Both the BCB and the BFF president have been enjoying their duty  for a long but the two high ups met each other very rare over more than a decade.

Papon, after his cordial meeting with Salahuddin on Tuesday detailed all to media when he said, “I wanted to meet and to know about the physical condition of Salahuddin Bhai after his returning from hospital. By this time I was  abroad to join in an ACC AGM.”

“After returning home, talked on Sunday and he told that at any time I could meet him. We fixed the time for today (Tuesday) to get together, I went at his residence.”

Actually, as I am not a doctor, I can’t detail all about his physical condition but it was good to see that his movement looked almost normal. But after a major surgery it is essential to rehab, Inshallah he will come round soon and he will be among us at everywhere.”

“Actually, I have already met with the BFF earlier and I listened about the major issues from them, even today also he (Salahuddin Bhai) told about their problems. I told him to provide me papers after getting well or by this time if possible to give the papers, after revising the papers I will consider what I could do,” Papon replied to a query.”

About some hot talks between two presidents few days ago, when it looked for that reason a bitterness was created in their relationship.

Papon when replying to the query said, “You see, it’s a long time relationship between us, it can never finish just due to one day’s exchanges. It is very much true that there is no legendary footballer like him in the country, so no way to deny that in boyhood I used to go to stadium to watch his performances. Yeah, it could be, sometimes we can be hurt due to odd talking between us and put across our reaction but that’s all. But it doesn’t mean that the relationship is finished.”

“Definitely, among there major problems are the scarcities of playground, then Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS), the main venue has been under construction for a long time, it’s a great problem, seriously hampered the games.”

“I told him (Salahuddin Bhai) that I am going to watch the progresses of the renovation works of the BNS. I will try to ensure of completing it by scheduled time and to handover. I will also try to manage substitute playgrounds for them.”

Football will have the first priority, football is the most popular game and there is no way to deny it,” Papon revealed.
