The farmers of the region are hopeful about a good yield of Aman as they experienced rain at the beginning of this season. There was less rain in the last few days of the previous month. The farmers were bit worried on that time. However, it rained for several days at the beginning of this month. So, the farmers hoped for a good yield. Moreover, it rains every day now. Abdul Warez, a farmer of Khanpur village under Dhakkamara union of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila, said I am farming Aman paddy on five Bighas of land this year. I raised the seedlings on seedbed early this year as there was a lack of rain for the last few years during this season. I planted the seedlings soon after it rained this season. I applied necessary fertilizer and pesticides on my land. The output is good so far. There is enough water in the land. Moreover, it often rains. If this weather continues for two-three weeks more, we will get a good yield.
