Palak exchanges views with senior officials of World Bank’s Digital Development Branch

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday held a meeting with the World Bank's Digital Development and related officials at the World Bank's head office in Washington DC.

Digital Development Practice Manager Vaijayanti Desai, Senior Digital Development Specialist Jerome Beziner and other senior officials of the branch were present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the Minister of State for ICT said that during the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance the government cloud through the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project implemented by the ICT Department under the auspices of the World Bank, provide cloud services for all government digital platforms. Has done.

In addition, the Digital Leadership Academy will be set up to train 10,000 government officials and 5,000 managers during the project period, to provide specialized training on cyber security, and to help raise 5 billion from the IT and ITES sector by 2025. Further discussions were made about improving the local ICT industry.

The project also enhances our capabilities in digital applications such as communication, meetings, e-marketplace, creation of national job portals and artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, semiconductor design and robotics.

Encouraging local startups by providing incentives has been discussed in detail, the state minister said.
