Pakistan cricket team is set to participate in the tri-nation T20I series in New Zealand ahead of the T20 World Cup, confirmed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja.

Talking to sports journalists, the PCB Chief has said that there will be a tri-series between Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh, which has been confirmed by the board.

“After receiving the confirmed dates for the tour of England to be held here in Pakistan on September 15, we have confirmed the participation of the Pakistan national team in the tri-series to be organized by New Zealand Cricket,” said Raja.

“Now the team will be having a good opportunity to test their combination and leading players’ form during the tri-nation series in New Zealand,”

The PCB chairman has also said Saqlain Mushtaq will continue as the team head coach till the completion of his contract.

“Saqlain will be there as head coach till the completion of one year. He possibly would not be in a position to continue following a one year stint more due to his domestic engagements and priorities,” he added.
