Toll collection of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge has crossed Tk 700 crore mark following its inauguration in 320 days.
According to the bridge officials, Tk 702,41,78,500 toll has been collected till 11:59 pm on Friday (May 12) within 10.5 months.
After its inauguration on June 26, this amount of toll has been collected from the bridge. As a result, an average of Tk 31937500 daily toll is being collected in 320 days since its inauguration.
Padma Bridge Additional Director Amirul Haider Chowdhury confirmed this information to the media on Saturday (May 13).
He said that since the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, that is, from June 26, 2022 to May 12, 2023 (Friday) at 11:59 PM, a total of Tk 702 crore 41 lakh 78 thousand and 500 tolls have been collected.
At this time, a total of 49,40,507 vehicles have crossed the Padma bridge.
Out of this, 24,15,537 vehicles passed through Mawa toll plaza and 24,88, 970 passed through Zazira toll plaza.
He also said that since its inauguration till now, Tk 347,53,8,050 and Tk 354,88,70,450 have been collected from Mawa and Zajira toll plazas respectively.
