Padma Bank Limited signed an agreement with the Islampur J.J.K.M Girls High School and College, a well-known educational institution in Islampur, Jamalpur, on Wednesday, to collect school fees from its students, a statement from the bank said. A total of 2,500 students will be benefitted by the bank’s nationwide exclusive school fee collection initiative, which will help the students deposit their monthly fees and other charges to any branch of the bank by using its full automated system. Padma, a fourth generation bank having 57 branches spread to strategic locations of the country, will also launch an App to assist the fee collection. The App, developed exclusively for the bank, will help the parents and guardians of the students to deposit their school and college fees from mobile phones in just less than one minute. There will be no need for guardians to physically travel to any of the bank branches or even spend hours in the queue to deposit their wards’ monthly fees. The agreement was signed in a ceremony at the bank’s Islampur Branch on Wednesday with the Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Islampur, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, gracing the occasion as the chief guest. Amirul Islam, the Head of Corporate Liability of Padma Bank, signed the agreement on behalf of the bank, which is majority owned by the country’s four largest state-owned banks and the ICB.
The Principal of the J.J.K.M. Girls High School and College, Md Abdus Salam Chowdhury, and the chairman of its governing body, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, inked the deal on behalf of the college.
Manager of Islampur Branch of Padma Bank Md. Shafakat Ali Osmany and senior officials of both organizations were present on the occasion.
