‘Ovishapta August’ play staged in Kishoreganj

A play titled 'Ovishapta August' has been staged in Kishoreganj, produced and performed by Bangladesh Police Drama Team. The play was staged at the Police Lines Drill Shed on Wednesday (August 18) night to mark National Mourning Day.The play was researched and data compiledby Dhaka Range DIG MdHabibur Rahman and the play was written and directed by Narayanganj Police Inspector Md. Zahidur Rahman.

The play chronicles the tragic assassination of Bangabandhu and his family on the night of 15 August 1975.In particular, the conspiracy to assassinate Bangabandhu, including the villain of history KhandakerMushtaq on 14 August, along with Colonel Faruq, a member of the assassination ring, and the tragic assassination of Bangabandhu and his family members on the night of 15 August.

After staging the play, Kishoreganj Police SuperMashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) presided over the function while Deputy Commissioner Mohammad ShamimAlam expressed his sentiments as the chief guest. Civil Surgeon Dr. Md.Mujibur Rahman, Director of Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical Hospital Md.Habibur Rahman, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate M.A Afzal, Ganatantri Party President Advocate BhupendraBhowmik Dolan, former Commander of MuktijoddhaSangsad Md.AsadUllah expressed their feelings at the time. Kishoreganj Model Police Inspector Joynal Abedin was conducted on the occasion.

Punak President Mahfuza Nazneen Dishar Chowdhury, Additional of Police Super (Administration) Mostaq Sarkar, Additional Police Super (Sadar Circle) Ibrahim Hossain, District Awami League Vice-President Vijay Shankar Roy, Joint General Secretary and BCB Director Syed Ashfaqul Islam Titu, Sadar Upazila Awami League President AdvocateAtaur Rahman, District Juba League Convener Aminul Islam Bakul, Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Bakar Siddique, Pakundia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md.Sarwar Jahan, Kishoreganj District Reporters Association President Md. Ashraf Ali, Vice President Ali Reza Sumon, General Secretary SajanAhammedPapon, Organizing Secretary Md. Al-Amin, RajibulHaque Siddique and other officials and employees of the district administration and police administration and local dignitaries were also present.
