The number of healthcare professionals becoming infected with coronavirus is growing every day in Bangladesh.
The Foundation for Doctors’ Safety, Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) said as of Saturday 523 doctors had been tested positive across Bangladesh.

Of them 389 were in Dhaka, nine were in Barishal, 17 in Chattogram, seven in Sylhet, 30 in Khulna, seven in Rangpur, 61 in Mymensingh and three in Rajshahi divisions.

According to the estimate of Bangladesh Doctors Foundation (BDF), however, the number of infected doctors until Saturday was 540.
FDSR earlier raised their concerns over the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers.
They also advised the government to establish triage at the entry of all hospitals so that people with coronavirus symptoms can be screened out to stem the spread of the virus inside the hospitals.

The Foundation also sent legal notice to the top health administrations – secretary and director general – over the reported N95 masks scam.

Ordinary masks have been delivered to the coronavirus dedicated hospitals in N95 package.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also raised the issue to Health Minister Zahid Maleque following which an investigation committee was formed.
