Vitamin A Plus campaign was started in Jhenaidah on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saroj Kumar Nath inaugurated the campaign administrating a capsule to a child at Old Jhenidah Hospital premises.
Civil surgeon Dr. Salina Begum, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Badruddoza Subho, upazila health and family planning officer (UHFPO) Dr. Sazzat Hossain among others remain present.
Jhenaidah district health office sources said 25,646 children age between six and eleven months will be administered blue colour capsule, while another 199,752 children age between 12 and 59 months will be administered with red colour vitamin A capsule from April 4 to 17. A total of 1,855 vaccination centres including 1,788 temporary, nine permanent, fifteen mobile and 73 additional camps were set up in six upazilas of the district to ensure Earlier in a press briefing civil surgeon Dr. Salina Begum informed that each and every child will be brought under the programme in continuous two weeks.
