Bangladesh registered one more death from Covid-19 and 1,146 newly infected in 24 hours till 8am Friday.
The total number of deaths rose to 28,098 with addition of the latest figure.
The current positivity rate rose to 5.67percent. The overall positivity rate stands at 13.75 percent.
The new cases take the total number of people infected to 1,591,093, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country. Around 20,204 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday.
The sole diseased was a woman from Mymensingh division.
Some 170 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,549,534 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.45 percent.
As of Friday, 5,491,912 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 301,012,785 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
